The Samsung plant is said to be the world's biggest mobile phone manufacturing outlet.

PM Modi and South Korean president t Moon Jae-in today inaugurated the Samsung manufacturing plant in Nodia, a suburb of Delhi.

While unveiling the Samsung plant, the Indian prime minister said people of India have a special place for Samsung.

"Whenever I talk to business community representatives, I always mention one thing: I don't think there is a middle-class home in India where a Korean product is not found," Modi said.

The Samsung plant is said to be the world's biggest mobile phone manufacturing outlet.

Pushing the cause of e-governance, the prime minister said, "GeM' means Government e-Market, through this, the government is now directly buying from producers."

Samsung had said it would using the plant to make entry-level phones as well as flagship devices. Reports say up to 67 million mobile phone will be manufactured in the plant.

The R&D hub of Samsung is also in India and now their largest factory will also be here, PM Modi added.

"Samsung has given employment to 70,000 people in the country," Modi said.

Uttar Pradesh and Korea share relations which is 2,000 years old, President Moon said while inaugurating the Samsung plant. The president added that it will help both the Indian and South Korean economy.
