
DMK president M Karunanidhi’s health suffered a slight setback on Thursday and he is being monitored and treated round-the-clock at his Gopalapuram residence by a team of doctors and nursing professionals from the Kauvery Hospital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that he spoke with Karunanidhi's son M.K. Stalin, who is the Leader of Opposition, and daughter Kanimozhi and enquired about the veteran leader's health. "I pray for his quick recovery and good health," wrote Mr. Modi on Twitter and added that he has offered any assistance required.
President Ram Nath Kovind also wished the DMK patriarch a speedy recovery.
An AIADMK delegation led by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday called on ailing DMK president M Karunanidhi at his residence in Chennai.
The AIADMK delegation, which included ministers S P Velumani and P Thangamani, held discussions with Karunanidhi's son and working president M K Stalin.
Senior DMK leaders, including Duraimurugan and T R Baalu, were present during the meeting.
