
According to reports, India and South Korea have signed a total of 11 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) so far. The MoUs have been signed on cooperation in the fields of biotechnology, bioeconomics, ICT and Telecommunications.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in signed the agreements earlier in the day.
PM Modi said India is a stakeholder in the peace process in the Korean peninsula and that the country will make all efforts to ensure peace in the region. Modi made the remarks after holding extensive talks with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday.
Shortly after their talks, the two countries signed documents.
PM Modi also showered praise on the South Korean leader for initiating the peace process in the Korean peninsula.
"Our focus is to further strengthen our Special Strategic Partnership," the Prime Minister said. "Economic and commercial ties is an important pillar of this."
South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his wife Kim Jung-sook arrived in Delhi on Sunday for a four-day official visit to India.
Moon, who is on a visit to India till July 11, was received by Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh. This is the first-ever official trip of Moon to India.
Both the countries will be holding dialogues on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues during Moon's visit.
