The filmmaker took to Twitter to post an apology to Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan

Ram Gopal Varma apologised to Telugu actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, his fans and his family for apparently instigating actress Sri Reddy into abusing the actor. The filmmaker on Thursday took to Twitter "My sincere apologies once again to Pawan Kalyan and all his fans and also his family members."

On Saturday, the filmmaker had posted a video on Youtube where he confessed that he "influenced Sri Reddy" and encouraged her to abuse Pawan Kalyan for saying that she should have gone to the police, not the media, with allegations of the casting couch.

Meanwhile, Sri Reddy also posted an apology on Twitter and said, "I apologise to Pawan Kalyan's mother. I didn't do it deliberately, but what I did was wrong, therefore asking for an apology."
Sri Reddy created headlines when she stripped in front of Telugu Chamber of Films to protest against casting couch. The actress was booked under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code for obscene act in public on April 8th, following her protest.

During an event, Pawan Kalyan was asked to react on Sri Reddy's allegations. The superstar had said that she should have approached the police and filed a complaint against filmmaker Suresh Babu's son Abhiram Daggubati instead of going to the media. Sri Reddy had accused Abhiram of promising her film roles in exchange for sex.

Pawan Kalyan's statement had clearly not gone down too well with Sri as the actress had then lashed out at the actor on her social media page. The actress was trolled by Pawan Kalyan's fans for her tweets. Later, she agreed to take Pawan Kalyan's advice and said she would go to the police. Here's what she said on Facebook:
