The police traced the man from the CCTV footage at the Army base hospital where the deceased was last seen with him. According to the police, the man in the CCTV footage was Major Handa
Indian Army major Nikhil Handa who had been arrested from Meerut's Daurala for allegedly killing the wife of another Army major ,wanted to marry thevictim, a report stated.
According to a mediareport, Major Nikhil Handa was "obsessed" with the victim and wanted to marry her.
The 35-year-old victim was found dead in Delhi's cantonment area on Saturday.
Police said the victim's throat had been slit and her face had been run over by a car, in order to try and make her killing look like an accident.
Police said she had been dropped off at the Army base hospital by a driver in her husband's official car.
But the driver was unable to find her when he returned. He also learnt that she had not attended her scheduled physiotherapy class.
