
As Netflix’s first Indian original web series, Sacred Games, hits the right note with the masses -- a Congress leader filed a complaint against the show’s makers, producers and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui for allegedly insulting late former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Rajiv Sinha, a Congress member in West Bengal wrote in his letter to the Kolkata Police that the show tarnished Rajiv Gandhi’s image in Bofors scandal case. He stated that Nawazuddin’s character Ganesh Gaitonde “abused our late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi calling him fattu, which translated as pu*** in the subtitle”
He also accused the makers of the show of "misrepresenting facts during his regime".

The show charted success soon after it being available for streaming July 6 onwards. The show has been in news ever since for its plot, performances of each actor, adult scenes and storytelling format.
Sacred Games is based on author Vikram Chandra's novel of the same name. It has been directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane.
