India accounts for 17.74% of 7 billion world population

The World O Meter website which provides current data relating to world population shows that the current world population is over 7 billion.

The population shown on the website, while writing this article, showed 7,635,187, 770.

While the births in the current year accounted for over 74 million, the deaths for the year was recorded over 152,555.

The net population growth recorded this year was over 43 million. 

The website showed that China with a population of over 1,415,045,928 ranked first in the list of most populated countries.

The second place was occupied by India with over 1,354,051,854 population.

While China accounts for 18.54 per cent of the world population, India accommodates 17.74 per cent. 

Following this US, Indonesia, Brazil occupied the next three positions.

According to the website, Holy See with a population of 801 was counted under the least populated.
