Congress open to alliance in Telangana, details need to be worked on: Jaipal Reddy

Senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy on Friday spoke over the possibility of an alliance in Telangana.
Reddy told media that Telangana leaders and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi have discussed alliances and that the party is not opposed to the idea. However, the details of the same need to be worked on, Reddy added.
"We (Telangana leaders and Rahul Gandhi) had discussed alliances. We are not opposed to it per say but details of the possible alliances are to be worked out: Senior Congress leader Jaipal Reddy on whether Congress will be open to alliances in Telangana," Reddy told media.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Rajat Kumar on Monday briefed senior officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) about the preparatory work in Telangana.

"The Election Commissioners and the senior officials of the ECI met and were briefed about the preparatory work that has been done till now. The stock of the preparatory work ahead of observers visit to Telangana was also discussed in the meeting," Rajat told ANI.
"A detailed discussion took place about the issues related to preparedness and what the observers' team would review during their visit to Hyderabad," he added.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao dissolved state Assembly on last week, nearly nine months before its term was to end, to clear the way for early elections.
